Powder Horn #14

This Philadelphia style screw-tip powder horn was made by Chris Helsel (Country Squirrel Horn Works). The plug and stopper are made from Osage Orange. The screw-tip and collar are made from horn. The plug has a very fine check that was repaired with a traditional style using handmade staple.  The horn measures16-3/4" along the outside curve, 14-3/8" tip to tip, with a diameter of 3". This is a one-of-a-kind horn and the horn pictured will be the one you receive. The maker Chris Helsel was just advanced to journeyman by the Honorable Company of Horners and has won multiple awards on his horns the Gunmakers Fair at Kempton as well as other events.
