LC-900 Lock Cover
Product Description
My lock cover is a version of an old design where a skinned calf or deer joint was dried and molded to fit over the lock of a flintlock rifle to shield it from the elements. I have updated it with a strap and brass button that holds it securely to any rifle except the largest muskets such as the brown Bess size. A must for both flintlock and percussion rifle hunters that hunt in the harsh elements. This lock cover does not water proof the flash pan but rather helps keep the occasional drop of water or snow off the lock and dousing the pan when walking through the woods and bumping brush and small saplings that are laden with water or snow. Several of our Possibles bags have back pockets which are perfect to stow a Lock Cover in so you always have it with you.

2nd one i purchased so i have one for each of my 2 flintlock rifles i use for Pennsylvianna's late flintlock deer season. Works much nicer than plastic bag to keep flash powder in pan dry as good looks.

Bought one of these last years for flintlock season. Hunted in the snow with it and it performed great. Gun went off when it needed to. So I bought a second for my kids to use. If you don't have one you need to buy one.

This lock cover is a marvel. Leather is very supple and well finished. I added some bear/grease tallow leather dressing and it's ready for the Michigan winter hunt

the closure is easy to release and the fit to gun is good
havent had a chance to take it out yet, but should work well to keep my powder dry

I’ve spent more money on my flintlock for less essential items. This is a must have item. Hands down. I’m no longer walking around in the rain and snow holding my glove over my flint.
